Sailing on the Dock - Vancouver Autumn

Sailing on the Dock, this is how the sail boats looked like from the distance this chilly morning while walking by the beach in Kitsilano. It is a beautiful sunny day and we also saw a squirrel very busy getting ready for winter stuffing branches and leaves on a hole of a tree ......... There is some snow in the mountains and the temperature is cooling down ...

Weekend in Vancouver

One of the nice things of Vancouver in the summer is that there are many things to do and events to go outdoors that it even make it difficult what to choose.
Two of the events that are happening right now are Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival 2009 Season and also Vancouver Celebration of Light.
Things to do outdoors we can go hiking, camping or just go for a walk and have brunch in one of the many restaurants of Kitsilano like Abigail’s Party where you can have a delicious classic Benny or have the classic Fish and Chips in the famous Go Fish in Granville Island.

Canadian Goose chasing a young bald eagle - Vanier Park

For those living in Kitsilano is a great pleasure to have this year not one but two 2 young bald eagles living in Vanier Park, these are children of the a couple that nest every year in one of the big trees in this park.

We went for a walk today and saw that they are already flying around and are being chased by crows and also by geese if they get too close to them as we saw in one of the the little lagoons.

The young eagles look great and healthy, although we could not find the little ducklings that we saw 2 weeks ago, hopefully they were not part of their diet.

Even if the pictures that I am showing here look like one of the young eagles is attacking the goose is was actually the opposite.
